Research Area:  Interactive computer problem solving by simulation and non-algorithmic methods, machine intelligence through soft computing, especially with neural networks, genetic algorithms and fuzzy logic. Applications to complex problems such as in bioinformatics data mining to find genes and identify their function. Program synthesis by speech for mobile computing in distributed environments.
